Shower Time

A friend of mine from work needs a bridal shower card for tomorrow, so I said I would make her one.  This is what I came up with:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The card base is white card stock.  I then cut another piece of white card stock at 4"x3."  I then masked off a piece of the card stock and inked up the rest of it.  I used barn door, victorian velvet, and spun sugar Distress Inks by Tim Holtz to create an ombre background.

The umbrella is from the "Bridal Shower" Cricut cartridge.  It is cut at 2 3/8" tall.  It is just a hair wider than the piece of the card stock I masked off.  The hearts are from the Cricut cartridge "The First Few Years."  It is actually a border, but I hid the contour of everything but the hearts.  I cut them at various sizes from colors of card stock that matched my inks.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Love Notes set.

For the inside I cut a piece of white card stock at 4 1/4"x3" to use as a mat.  I used another sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps, this one from the Everyday Greetings set.  I also added another red heart for a little color.

Udder-ly Adorable

This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used ivory card stock for the card base.  The pink floral card stock is cut at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  The banner is from "When I Was a Kid."  It was cut to fit the length of the card.

The label is from "The First Few Years," cut at 3," and the cow is from "Noah's ABC Animals," cut at 2."  I covered the darker part of the cow in flocking powder.  To get the color I wanted I mixed a glittery red flock and a fuchsia flock together.  I also added glossy accents to the horns, which is hard to see since they are so small.  The cow is adhered with foam tape, and I added three dark red gems to the label.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  It is another one from the the Little Critters set!

You are Such a Deer

I made another card to go with a sentiment from the Little Critters stamp set by Scrappy Moms Stamps.

The card is 4 1/2"x4 1/2."  The card base is made of ivory card stock.  I cut some orange polka dot card stock at 4 3/8"x4 3/8" to use as a mat.  I added some glittery ivory enamel circles in all four corners.

The circular label was made using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called Picot Edge Circles.  I then used the Standard Circles Large die to cut the wood paper to fit in the picot edged circle.  Both the wood patterned and orange polka dot card stock are from the Friendly Forest 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug Design.  It is adhered to the card with pop dots.

The sentiment, as said before, is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I stamped it on ivory card stock using rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  I then trimmed the card stock into a banner.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the deer.  It is called "Cute Fawn" and is by Jamie Koay (#49082).

I Bee-lieve It Is Spring

It may be spring, but we got snow today.  So, I thought I would make a card to help remind me that it will, in fact, get warmer soon.  Well, I hope it will at least.  Here is my spring themed card:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used a light blue pre-made card for my base.  All the flowers and the bee are from the "Spring Fling" cartridge.  I also used the Cricut pens to draw on the images as well, which this cartridge is actually designed to do.

Both the tulips and the iris are cut at 2" and the bee is cut at 3/4."  The bee is adhered with foam tape to give the card a touch of dimension.

The sentiment is stamped with rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  The sentiment is from the Little Critters set by Scrappy Moms Stamps.

I Kid Of Course

Today I decided to make a card just for fun.  I have so many wonderful sentiment stamps, but have not used nearly enough of them.  I wanted to make a card to fit a particular sentiment stamp.  So, I picked this fun sentiment from the Little Critters stamp set by Scrappy Moms Stamps, and made a card using that sentiment as my inspiration.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used dark brown card stock to create my card base.  The green houndstooth mat is 5 1/4"x4."  The paper came from the Murphy's Square mat stack by The Paper Studio.  The label in the background was created with Spellbinders Labels Ten Nestabilities dies.  I embossed the green label with the Herringbone embossing folder by The Paper Studio.  I added some beige enamel dots to the label to accent the colors of my card.

The little goat is from "Nate's ABCs."  He is cut at 3" tall.  I added some brown flocking to his spots and used cinnamon Stickles to cover his hooves, eye, and nose.

The speech bubble is from "When I Was a Kid."  I flipped it to face the opposite direction and also resized it to fit the stamp.  I used rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko to stamp the sentiment into the speech bubble.  Both the goat and speech bubble were adhered with foam tape for some more dimension.

Under the Weather

Here is the card I made today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white card stock for the card base.  I then cut some rain patterned card stock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" as a mat.

The banners are from "Bits and Pieces."  It is one cut and is 0.84" tall.  I kept the longer one straight and angled the shorter one a bit, then trimmed them at the left edge of the card.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Sweet Somethings set.

The girl with the umbrella is from the Cricut cartridge "A Child's Year."  She is cut at 1 1/2."  I put her on a layered circles.  The blue circle is 1.7" and the kraft circle is 1.9."  They are adhered to the card with pop dots for some dimension.

I finished the inside of this card as well.  The rain patterned card stock is cut at 5 1/4"x4."  The green mat is 4 1/4"x3" and the white mat is 4"x2 3/4."  I used another stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps for the sentiment.  It is also from the Sweet Somethings set.  The umbrella is from "A Child's Year," and is cut at 1 1/4."  The rain is a digital image from Creativebug, called Raindrops.

You Can't Get Much Sweeter Than This

This is the card I made for my brother's birthday, which is Friday.

The card is 4 1/2"x4 1/2" and made of black card stock.  I used some patterned orange card stock as a mat, cut at 4 3/8"x4 3/8."

The label is from "Elegant Edges" and is cut at 4."  The image is actually a glucose (sugar) molecule.  It is a digital image I found in Cricut Design Space.  My brother is a bit of science nerd (as am I) and I thought it would a fun card for him.

I made this for the current challenge at CASology.  Their cue word this week is "sweet."  I figured, what could be sweeter than glucose?

Happy Baa-thday

Here is a card I made today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4 and made of dark grey card stock.  The pink mat is 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  I then cut another dark grey mat at 5 1/4"x4."  I then cut three light grey stripes.  The middle one is 1"x4" and the other two are 3/4"x4."

The scalloped circle is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die, as is the plain white circle.  The stamped image and sentiment from Paper Smooches, both from the Party Posse set.  I then added some color to the sheep using Distress markers by Tim Holtz.  The scalloped circle is adhered to the card with foam dots for dimension.  I finished off the card with some enamel dots and an enamel heart.

I made this for the current challenge at Paper Smooches, which is a photo inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the grey stripes on the wall and I used the fluffy pink hanging ball to inspire my sheep.

Lovely Hedgehog

I made another card today, this one a cute little scene card:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white card stock for the card base.  I cut some cloud patterned paper at 4 3/4"x3 1/2" and then matted it with some turquoise card stock at 4 7/8"x3 3/8."

I stamped the hedgehog image on the sky paper.  The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  I then stamped the image a few more times on other colors of card stock so that I could paper piece it all together.  The grass is a Fiskars border punch and I inked the edges of the grass with some mowed lawn Distress Ink.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, the Blossoming Buds set.

Couch Potato

How about a fun shaped card for you today?

The card is a shaped card from Cricut.  It is from the Father's Day card series, this one is called Couch Potato.  I fussy cut out the cup and straw to add a few more colors to the card.  I then used a stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps for the sentiment.  It is from the Mom's Diner set.  I also added some glittery green enamel dots to the couch.

I finished the inside as well.  It is really simple.  I cut the card shape again from a dark brown to make it all the same and add detail to the potato.  I then cut a small piece of kraft card stock and added my sentiment to it, again from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  This one is from the Birthday Hugs set.
